A self-taught artist, Jelly Massee began her artistic career with a strong passion for depicting moments of local history and culture from the Outaouais and Ottawa Valley areas. These historic images were creatively produced using sepia tones and researched for accuracy in what she produces. Preserving moments in time for future generations. With a preference in using acrylics, she also works fondly in coloured pencil and ink. Becoming a signature member of the Coloured Pencil Community of Australia in 2019 and writing tutorials for Ann Kullberg’s Color Magazine. Her work has been exhibited throughout the Outaouais and Ottawa Valley, including spaces in government buildings, a variety of galleries and museums, as well as appearances at Art fairs and a feature on CTV’s television series Regional Contact, which aired in April of 2011. Jelly Massee works in a realistic manner with a subtle touch of surrealism. Meticulous to details in both function and composition, bringing life to all her chosen subjects.
