Funds for Festivals and Events

Festivals and events considered under this policy are distinguished by the high visibility they bring to the Pontiac and the significant social and economic benefits they generate, as well as by their successful expansion of an existing event or festival.

The events selected have the following objectives

  • Support the growth of major tourism festivals and events that position the Pontiac on the provincial, national and international scene;
  • Encourage the emergence, development or consolidation of events and festivals;
  • Encourage the renewal of events and their programming;
  • Maximize the economic impact of events and festivals;
  • Provide financial support to event and festival organizations;
  • Strengthen the attractiveness of festivals and tourist events that contribute significantly to the community and to the enhancement of the Pontiac tourism offer.
 

Eligible beneficiaries

Admissible bodies

  • Municipal organizations;
  • Band councils of Aboriginal communities;
  • Cooperatives;
  • Non-profit organizations;
  • Schools and School Service Centres represented within the MRC Pontiac territory.

 

Each beneficiary must be registered in the Québec Enterprise Register with a valid NEQ number and its status must be up to date.

Documents

Availabilty of funds

The MRC of Pontiac reserves the right to award grants based on the funds available.

  • Local Event: up to $1,000
  • Regional Event: up to $2,000
  • Medium-Scale and Growing Signature Event: up to $5,000
  • Major Large-Scale Signature Event: up to $10,000

Applications are reviewed once per year and are subject to predetermined application deadlines.

Program Launch: September 9, 2026

Application Deadline: October 21, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. (noon), for events taking place between January 1 and December 31, 2027.

Applicants must submit the following documents:

  • A complete application form with a clear description of the event and the projected budget;
  • Financial statements for the applicant’s most recent fiscal year;
  • Proof of the previous year’s attendance (e.g., proof of ticket sales, or clickthrough tracking, a photo of crowd size, or any other reasonable way to measure the crowd).
